Zalp
Epics
Create a product for food delivery ZALP, which would eliminate humans from all processes, where possible, and automate everything else as much as possible
Client Tasks
The system should allow a single operator to take more than 300 orders in a 12 hour shift
The system should allow a single motorized courier to deliver more than 35 orders per shift
The system must allow for the delivery of orders without delays
The system should have an incentive system for all key employees aimed at matching the real life cycle of the order to the calculated one
The system must build employee performance ratings
The system should independently distribute orders by courier
The system should build optimal routes, taking into account traffic jams and in real time for all types of couriers (pedestrian, motorist, cyclist)
Ability to work in automatic and semi-automatic courier management mode
Task

It is resource-intensive and impractical to plan from scratch the functionality of a full-fledged system. We decided to go with the MVP product To do this we needed to:

Design a Kernel that meets all the REST requirements of the application: Performance

Scalability; Simplicity of a unified interface; Openness of components to possible changes to meet changing needs (even while the application is running); Transparency of relations between system components for service providers; Portability of system components by moving program code together with data; Reliability, expressed as resistance to system-level failures in the presence of failures of individual components, connections, or data;

Define the starting functionality of the system, covering most of the basic needs

To implement the system in the target business

Implement a pilot project)

Design a working MVP version of the system, implement it in the target business

Receive feedback

Collect feedback during operation, improve and refine (deliver 700 to 2000 orders per day)

Develop a full-fledged product and bring it to market

Kanban

Applied methodology

Kanban is a "pipeline" framework. It helps to process and prioritize incoming tasks, which are then executed according to priorities. Since the number of tasks in the work is strictly limited - they are always in focus, issues and problems related to the tasks are always quickly resolved. The cycle of solving each specific task is minimal, as well as the labor costs, and continuous improvement allows you to achieve maximum efficiency.
"Kanban helps you see the big picture while staying focused on the details." - Henrik Kniberg
